We're attempting to obtain a tax return transcript from the IRS, but the past 4 years are showing as follows:
As of 'today's date' we have no record of a processed tax return for the tax period listed above (2021). This goes for 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, yet my wife did her taxes with Turbotax. She paid the Turbotax fee to file. Does this mean that Turbotax didn't file for these years?
Kind regards for any assistance with this matter.

Paying the TurboTax fee does not file your tax return. After paying the fee you have to continue through the filing section of the interview until you got to the screen with the big orange button that says "Transmit Returns Now," and click that button. After clicking the transmit button you should have gotten two emails, one telling you that your tax return was transmitted, and later another one telling you that your return was either accepted or rejected. If you did not click the orange "Transmit Returns Now" button, you did not file your tax return.
Paying the TurboTax online account fees does not file a tax return.
You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year
Check the status for the tax return for each tax year in question. If the status shows anything other than Accepted then tax return was not e-filed.
Click on Download/print return (PDF)
If not e-filed, you will need to print, sign, date and mail each tax return since they can no longer be e-filed.
Include with the tax return all forms W-2 and 1099 which have taxes withheld. You need to use a separate envelope for each tax year being mailed.
Go to this IRS website for the federal tax return mailing address, by state, with and without a tax payment - https://www.irs.gov/filing/where-to-file-paper-tax-returns-with-or-without-a-payment
Note - Tax returns with a tax refund prior to tax year 2021, the refund will not be paid.
