Greetings,
I filed my state and federal returns March 30, 2022. They were rejected several times because of my previous years' filing verification identifier and how/where the government interpreted the amount contained within this field. I eventually got the right figures the system was looking for and my returns were accepted. I received my refund from Illinois, but not my federal.
I have gotten two different IRS notifications that my taxes are being reviewed. No pertinent information as to "Why their being reviewed", just delayed and under review. Last tax filing season (2021) I had significant changes to my filing status (i.e., married, filing separately, caring for my elderly mom and special needs sister who lived in my house during COVID) coupled with solar credits.
Has anyone ever experienced this from the IRS? And, can you share insight as to what their looking for with such a long delay?

the IRS is having issues processing some returns - some take 6 months and even up to a year to process. so your situation is not uncommon. there is nothing you or Turbotax can do to speed up the refund. as to the reason only the IRS can answer that. you'll have to be patient. the good thing is that the IRS has your return.
