The IRS does not know that the funds are being deposited onto a debit card. They only know that there is a bank routing number and account number for the tax refund to be direct deposited onto, therefore "your bank account".

I have been a customer with TurboTax for years. I had my refund put onto my prepaid card this year. Someone broke my information and used my card and took 40 separate transactions for $5 each. No one flagged that or contacted me. I had to call them and wait on hold for over 2 hours to get a live person because the dispute transaction on the website won't work. I finally get someone and they told me they would look into it. I get an email today saying they will NOT be giving my money back. $240 up in smoke. I am beyond upset and I can't get anyone on the phone again. This is unacceptable. 40 transactions to the same place!!!!! What part of that didn't scream fraud???? I will be seeking legal action
