I had 2 dependents that qualified for the full $3600 child tax credit in tax year '21. I accidentally listed one of the dependents as "SSN not valid for employment", which resulted in them being listed as "Credit for other dependents" - a $500 credit instead of the full $3600.
When I filed in April of '22, I paid $3,599. My amended return shows I should be getting a $3100 refund. I have the 1040X, and corrected 1040 and Schedule 8812. That's all set. My question is...TurboTax 2021 has provided a 1040-V for a $499 payment and I'm not sure what I should do with it. I've already paid everything last year - $3599 paid, filing an amendment that I only owed $499, and so I am just seeking the $3100 refund. TurboTax instructions also don't mention anything about making a payment, or sending in any proof of prior payment, so I don't know how to proceed. Can someone help? Thanks in advance!

Just ignore the payment voucher. You do not need to send any payment. On your 1040-X it should show your original payment.
