You have to enter your 6 digit IP PIN that you received from the IRS -

To enter, edit or delete a 6 digit IP PIN

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Other Tax Situations
Scroll down to Other Return Info
On Identity Protection PIN, click the start button

I found the IRS PIN site with was incorrectly listed on the Turbo Tax page. IRS gave me a six digit PIN. Turbo tax says it will only accept 5 digits.

(Note: Turbo Tax says I can select my own 5 digit PIN, so I entered my own 5 digit, as it is required)

In the File section of the program you only need to enter a 5 digit number that you select.  The 5 digit PIN is only used for e-filing a tax return and can be any 5 digits you select.

If you had an identity theft or other issue and requested from the IRS an Identity Protection PIN, the IRS would have sent you the 6 digit IP PIN in the mail, usually in December or January.

These two PIN's are totally separate and are entered separately in two different locations in the TurboTax program.

I've never needed an IP PIN, but I got one because TurboTax said I had to do that after IRS rejected. On TTAx Desktop Premier 2023, the URL to get an IPPIN from the IRS is incorrect (404 error)  I found the correct IRS form and got an IPPIN. TTAx Desktop Premier 2023 does not allow me to enter the IPPIN on the 1040 form. I will have to manually enter it and mail the form in. I contacted support to ask for a refund, I was given a complete runaround. I will hound them until I get a refund.
