Hi,
I forgot to include a 1099R distribution for a traditional to Roth (Backdoor) conversion in my '22 return. When I go through the amended return process in TurboTax, it says "We don't detect any differences between your original 2022 return and your amended return. If you're sure you need to amend, explain why below."
Do I still need to amend in this situation? There is no change in tax (since it was an immediate backdoor conversion of after-tax dollars to a Roth). I wondered if I needed to file to be sure that the IRS had an updated 8606 for these accounts.
Thank you!
