Do you mean your employer's Federal ID?  You will find it on your W-2 when the employer issues it.  They have until February 1 to issue your W-2.  Slow down and do not be in a rush to file.  The IRS will not be accepting returns until the end of January.

If you could clarify of details what you're trying to do, we can try to help.

If you're trying to import 1099's, download a PDF copy from your bank to your computer.  There may be a Document ID on this form, which your bank wants you to enter for importing.   

If the item is for Interest or Dividends, it's easier to enter it manually.  All you need is the bank name and amount.

Best way is to import your 1099-INT from your bank using your Turbo Tax account, uploaded from your PC if on hard drive or enter it manually.

In order to import tax information, for example, for PNC bank, TurboTax is asking for 24 chars Tracking ID at the bottom of page 1 (plus SSN). SSN is understandable, but I, for example, cannot locate 24 chars Tracking ID on my PNC tax document, hence the question. Of course, one can enter data manually, but we are coming here to help locating the Tracking ID

What info are you trying to import?  If it's bank interest, enter it manually.  All you need is the bank name and amount.

We can't advise where the tracking ID number should be for importing, if you don't see it on your document.  You could reach out to the bank for that info.
