TPG is not sending checks, as expected. Completely lost at this point.

I am continuing this post from a previous post detailing my experience with TPG two weeks ago. This company said that my refund was supposedly in the mail and would be received by April 8th. The IRS sent my return on March 23rd. It is May the 7th and yet no check. I filed with the BBB and several consumer complaint agencies just so they could send me a notice saying it is likely in the mail. Do you know what the problem is? In the middle of the pandemic in 2021, the IRS not only sent my check but proceeded to FORWARD it to my new address. Yet a private corporation can't even be bothered to update me on the status of the check. I'm not even going to bother talking about how useless TurboTax is. A month later and I'm still waiting. I even resolved the BBB complaint with the company, but nope. Nothing. They still haven't sent it. Do you know how I know? I actually searched through the post office and they never received anything from their company or their subsidiaries and business partners (like Civista bank, etc.) to any address I have on file. I have had to do that process for multiple clients and family members and the post office was accurate and reliable. But for my little $2,368 tax return, no luck. Thank goodness the IRS offers personal E-file so I don't go through this crap again next year. I'll have better odds filing on my own. My recommendation for others is to use a private merchant so as to avoid these issues of miscommunication/lack thereof in the future.

Any chance that your mail was stolen, or that you threw the envelope out because you thought it was junk mail?  (Another user recently posted that he almost did the latter.)  All you can do is ask TPG to stop payment on the check, and issue a new one.

Going forward, you can avoid all this (and save the extra charge) by paying your TT fees upfront with a debit or credit card.
