I receieved letter from irs letter 4883c . verify identity. i called and all went good. now they say up to 9 weeks before i get return ?

I moved and had a feeling that I was going to be receiving a letter. After several weeks with nothing, I finally just made an appt at the local IRS office but then the very next day, my old roommate texted and said that she had received my letter and that it had been in her stack of mail that she hadn't looked through. I call the IRS and verified my identity and the rep (very helpful BTW) said that everything was fine and that she had put my return back into processing, 9 weeks, blah blah blah. Does anyone know if I need to cancel the appt? Will that trigger some sort of red flag?

I filed 1/19 and was accepted the same day, about a week later (after the first official date 1/23) my bars disappeared and I called to make sure everything was okay and the rep told me that I would be getting a letter in the mail. I got the lettee and verified 2/16 and now it's 2/24 and still no update and I still can't order my transcript. I've seen more than once that tonight/Saturday morning 2/25 there should be a mass update to WMR so I hope we get our DDD tomorrow morning.

Update as of 2/24 7pm
I was able to order my return transcript 🙂 hopefully there's a DDD date at 3am

i hope we all do to @dpearsall11 because I've been hearing the same thing but when I called to sk the rep she said its updated every night at 12am.. so who know's they are really holding everything a secret this year.

So here is my experience so far . I filed in January and was accepted January 17, I am a self employed Hairdresser and claim the EIC. I have paid for all said "extra" benefits from TT, yet since they are not in control of the new taxes laws, it has become a waste. After finally waiting until Feb. 15 I received a 4883c to call in and verify my identity which I did on of course President's ( ironically ) which was monday the 21st? I think .. Anyways .. I have been reading thru all these comments this week and my of course I just felt Murphy's law .. And so I called today and after I spoke with the irs ( basic 800-829-1040) I was so non personally informed I was selected for a second review and can now expect to wait until the end of April .... Great ... So .. Good Luck .. Tax season has changed and regardless that irs not TT fault .. This has now basically put these services out of business for next year .. There is no point in paying the extra 200$ to sit and wait as if I paid 0$ for basic filibg because I am still being audited without actually being audited and the only option is nothing but to wait.

e-Filed on 1/30/17 Accepted 2/1/17, received  4883c letter on 2/13/17 and verified my identity on the same day, whole process took about an hour was told my identity was verified and  would have to wait 9 weeks. My wmr still says being processed, will my refund be coming as direct deposit now or a paper check? if anyone could help would be appreciated!

I was part of the big update this morning, filed 01/27, verified my identity 2/17 and now a week later 2/25 I got a DDD for March 1 so no it doesn't take 9 weeks that's just what they project

I was part of the big update 2/25. Received DDD of 3/1. Just for reference... filed 1/22, return accepted 1/23, received letter 4883c on 2/16, verified 2/17 and received DDD on 2/25. Now I can relax a little

Just got our ddd. Filed 1/27 4883c 2/17 verified. 2/18 upare today shows 3/1 hope it helps someone else who is stressed the He'll out like I am . This has been a crazy tax season
