The IRS has been processing my return for over 6 weeks now. I've never experienced this length of delay. It there any way to find out what the hold up is?

You can call them and inquire about the processing of your return. 800-829-1040.

When you call that number, you are taken to a mechanized attendant that gives the same information as The IRS web based "where's my refund tool". No way to check status on reasoning for the delay.
