I haven't received any email that my tax return was accepted, but I got an email with order confirmation. Are these two different things? I filled up my tax return on the 3rd of April and it still says it is in progress. I tried to check my status on turbo tax and IRS, both sites do not give any information.Looking for the answers I found that to complete the form, I have to press the big orange button saying, "Transfer my tax return."  or something like that. I do not recall pressing such button, but I am not 100% sure. If I didn't, would it be possible to get an order confirmation from turbotax? And again, I haven't received an email of my tax return acceptance. My current status on the website states for both federal and state, "In progress"

Yes, getting an order confirmation and e-filing your Tax Return are 2 separate things.

You can check your filing status by clicking this link:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/wheres-my-refund/.  If there is no information shown, you have not filed yet.  It is pretty hard to e-file your taxes and not know for sure because you have to click on a big button that says "Transmit My Returns Now" (like you mentioned above).

If you need to e-file your Tax Returns, you must walk through the "File" section of TurboTax.  Click "File", which is found on the left side of your screen.  You must walk through the 3 steps and then click the button that says "Transmit My Returns Now".

got cofirmation e mail but need to mail in my return and did not get an email that i could print out to send in

If you have entered all your information and all the forms in your return have been finalized, you can print and mail in your return whenever you wish.
