Re-read the letter.   Does the letter say the IRS did not receive your tax return---or does it say you did not PAY your tax due?   When you look at your Form 1040 is there an amount on line 37?  Did you pay that when you filed?   Your only proof that you paid is your own bank or credit card statement.

"They have not received my taxes, and if I do not submit them, I could miss out on a return." I submitted them in March and have not received them from federal and state.

Did you e-file?  Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?”

Note:  If it says “Ready to Mail” or “Printed” that means YOU have to mail it yourself.  TurboTax does not mail your tax return for you.

@jayo78 If you discover that your return was not filed successfully, the only way to file it now is by mail; e-filing is permanently closed for 2023.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

E-file and it shows that it was accepted by federal and state online in my account and received two emails with the "Good new, your return was accepted."

What does it say on the IRS refund site?

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2023 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

To track your state refund:
