Its been over 5 weeks since my return was accepted by the IRS. I have direct deposit. I still have not received my refund. I am getting concerned. Who do I contact

Due to IRS security measures, processing may take a little longer than it has in the past.

It simply means that your e-filed return is being processed and that the government hasn't approved or rejected it yet. Sometimes return status does not update for several days or even longer. During this time, the government reviews your refund (processing).

Only the IRS would know why your return is still processing. TurboTax does not get any information about your return or refund once your return is accepted.

Since it has been over 21 days you can call the IRS for information, but it may take some time to connect.

The IRS telephone number is 1-800-829-1040, and they are available from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday thru Friday. The best time to call is early in the morning.

I got the IRS app and check it everyday and it still says processing. Called the phone Number. All automated. Doesn’t let me get to a person. This is the first time I used the standard deduction. It’s very frustrating. Guess I just have to wait and hope I get my refund.
