Tax payment

I overpaid my 2019 taxes. How do I get the overage back?

Explain in more details ... did you pay in too much in estimates during the year  or with an extension you filed ?  Did you pay the balance due twice by mistake ?

Sent the amount due for state taxes to the IRS by mistake.

Using TurboTax it is almost impossible to pay the state taxes owed to the IRS.  

How exactly did you pay the state taxes owed?  Credit card, direct debit from a bank account, payment by check, using the IRS payment website instead of the state payment website?
