My husband alternates years he claims his oldest with his ex so she is claiming their child this year. We had a baby in 2020 who we didn’t receive the stimulus for, but since we have the same amount of dependents as last year (since the oldest is being claimed by mom) it won’t add the stimulus for our baby. Is there a way to correct this?

Hi. I have something similar. We switch which kids we claim with our exes. So I put in the stimulus payment we received in 2020 (based on 2019 dependents claimed for taxes, which is correct), but because we are claiming more dependents for 2020, TurboTax is claiming that we are owed more money. I don't see a way to fix this?

Since your husband's oldest is not being claimed by you this year, you will be receiving the second stimulus payment for your baby, not for for your husband's oldest.

Current guidance from the IRS is telling us that you are entitled to the credit for 2020.
Here is link to the IRS Dependent Eligibility.
This is the sentence to read at the end of the paragraph Claimed dependents are not eligible for an additional $500 payment
When the parent who did not receive an additional payment files their 2020 tax return next year, they may be able to claim up to an additional $500 per-child amount on that return if they qualify to claim the child as their qualifying child for 2020.
