State refund lowered due to fed agi does not agree with agi on fed return

I've used TT for years, but this is the first time a state refund has been adjusted. In TT 2020, on first page of state return, the expected return shows $115, which is the amount the state lowered the refund to. However, after making no changes, when I click Continue, the refund immediately recalculates to $571, which is what I submitted.

Is this a program calculation error? If this is a data entry error, where do I look to troubleshoot this? After I reviewed the data, both W-2's and charitables are entered correctly.

The difference in AGI is the amount of the charitables.

State refund lowered due to fed agi does not agree with agi on fed return

Update: I found that I entered our Charitable Amount on the state return as an "income adjustment." Once I removed that, the numbers straightened out.
