Tax topic 151 relates to an offset. If you owe any type of debt to the government such as child support or student loans, they will take it out of your refund. This can slow things down. They'll send you a letter telling you who's collecting the debt. You can also appeal an offset.

I'm being told it's an offset for something I owe by some people and being told I'm being audited by others

They say it's for things like owing child support or students loans. I'm not on child support and I don't have any student loans so why did I get TT151?
