My husband changed jobs from AL to PA and halfway through the year we stayed with relatives in PA, while still owning our home in AL because our home had not sold. To which state to we claim residency or do we claim half?

If you moved to Pennsylvania with the intention of making it your new home (and not returning to Alabama) you are part year resident of Alabama and Pennsylvania for the year even if you still owned your home in Alabama.
