rejected return

My Federal return was rejected because the AGI didn't match records on my 2018 return.  However, it does match the amount on my (Turbotax) copy of the return, both on the summary (page 1) and on line 7 of the return itself.

Note: If you filed late or amended your return, your correct 2018 AGI may not be in the system.

Note:  If you mail your federal return, you will also need to mail your state return.  You will not be able to e-file your state return.

If you used the wrong AGI, your e-file  be rejected.  When you get the rejection notice, correct it and re-file.

I filed on time last year.  Also, I did not amend the return. Finally, if I refile, it's going to have the same AGI that my  first filing had ... it's the only number I have in my records. Should I refile anyway?

@highnam Doing the same thing and expecting different results...that will not work.  If the AGI you are using does not work, then try "zero."  If zero does not work then you have to print, sign, and mail it.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
