Yes, I did. I called the IRS, and there was an error on my return with 1095-A information. You should have received a letter in the mail with instructions to correct.
Thanks good afternoon how I get my transcript?
@china1321 Are looking for a prior year filed return transcript? If so, please see the link below for instructions:
How do I get a copy of my tax return or transcript from the IRS?
Or if you are looking for your refund status with the IRS, please see the information below:
To track your Federal refund, visit the Where’s My Federal Refund? site You may also download the IRS2Go app to check your Federal refund status.
I am looking for my refund, not a prior tax transcript... I called, went to the website, both still say processing....it was a basic 1040 form/refund. Cant find anyone to answer me after it was accepted 5+ weeks ago. I had surgery and was hoping I had that refund by now to help pay for it . sigh
I have not heard or received anything. Maybe I need to call the local office?
who told you that, Turbotax?
Once the IRS accepts your federal return, all updates are taken over by them. Therefore, we don't have information about the status of your refund. The only thing we can do is direct you back to the IRS.
On the IRS website it states, "The IRS issues more than 9 out of 10 refunds in less than 21 days. However, it’s possible your tax return may require additional review and take longer. Where’s My Refund? has the most up to date information available about your refund...Our phone and walk-in representatives can research the status of your refund if it's been 21 days or more since you filed electronically." Reference: What to Expect for Refunds This Year
Since it's been more than 21 days since your return was accepted, we suggest contacting the IRS directly to inquire about your refund. You can go here for tips on reaching a live IRS agent when you call.
You can also refer to the following TurboTax FAQ for some possible reasons why your return is delayed: What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 day ...
This is my problem with all these reports of 1095A errors...why did TurboTax or any other tax preparation software allow for the return to pass through their check before telling you that the return was ready for submission. Like I said previously, it caught an error with a form that wasn't available on my state but the federal went through with no problem and I also got a letter that there was an issue because the 1095A was missing. I think this was a purposely created issue to slow the issuance of refunds because the government wants to delay refunds for as long as possible. And I also believe that the so-called "experts" are aware of this because they keep posting the same stuff from the same script that you hear from them if you call Turbo Tax support.
Thank you.
Ok so I spoke with an IRS agent and ask why my refund was still being processed and he stated that it was something with the 1095A but they fixed it and corrected it or it could still be processing. I should either receive a letter or my refund in the next 4 weeks. I think most people's refunds are held because of the health insurance option not even being available in any tax software.
@Anonymous @I would call them if you haven’t got a letter or nothing and if they tell you nothing is wrong get a tax advocate ASAP if you are having a hardship they will most likely help you get it done quick
@Devans0714 For some reason turbo said they were not required to ask about that. It doesn’t make sense but that’s what they have said
Be prepared to be on hold for at least 15-30 mins
Thank you so much everybody is the first time something like this happens to me. And using Turbo Tax for years. I received the letter on 02/13 and still being processed is where I am right now.
Great help thanks again.
The tax advocates are not really helpful. I called on 02/18 and asked for an advocate because I had the 1095 issue. I told them my hardship which is I lost my job on 02/20 and my car is about to be repossessed because I already missed one payment. I have spoken to the advocate twice a week since 02/20 and she left me a voicemail message on Friday saying that she would speak to her manager on Monday and will call me at 9:00 am on Monday. Well, that did not happen. I called her on Tuesday and she completely forgot that she left me a voicemail saying that she would call me on Monday after she spoke to her manager. She told me that her manager said I will have to wait until the IRS updates the system, in my case, on the 28th. So I left a voicemail with her manager and his boss and have yet to receive a callback but both of their voicemails promise a return call within 3 business days. I spoke with an agent at the IRS last Friday and before the referred me back to the advocate they told me that they have finished processing my return and that there is a slight decrease in the amount I am going to get back due to the 1095 form. So they have finished their work but they still will not release my refund until the end of the month which falls right into the 4-6 weeks I was originally told by the IRS it would take for them to process my refund once they received the 1095 and 8962 forms. So, I am not sure what the purpose of the advocate is, maybe they just don't want irate customers yelling at the agents anymore, but they sure as hell are not doing anything to expedite returns. At least that is my experience with them.
