refund why HELP

I didn't pay withholding thru the year 2001. I am getting a refund of $1401.....why?

It can't be earned income credit. Could it be the 3rd stimulus check? Could it be from taking the standard deduction? I'll take the $1401.00, but, I don't want to have to pay it back later.

So what do you think?

refund why HELP

It would be very difficult to determine without looking at your 1040.

You can look at your 1040 and see if it makes sense to you, if not you could ask while providing numbers such as your income, and filing status.

TO PREVIEW YOUR 1040 IN TURBOTAX ONLINE:

Click "Tax Tools" on the LEFT SIDE BAR then click "Tools" which shows open below

Click "View Tax Summary" on the screen

Click "Preview my 1040" which now appears on the LEFT SIDE BAR

Look at line 30 of your Form 1040.   If you see $1400 there ---it is the 3rd stimulus amount.
