Income tax return and refund processing by the IRS has been almost interminably delayed due to the pandemic.

I submitted my turbo tax dated July 13, 2020, for 2019 IRS.  I haven't received my refund until now. I'm trying to contact the IRS office, but no one is available. Thank for help.

    To call the IRS:IRS:  800-829-1040  hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Mon-Fri

Listen to each menu before making the selection.

First choose your language. Press 1 for English.

Then do NOT choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.

Instead, press 2 for "personal income tax".

Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".

Then press 3 "for all other questions."

Then press 2 "for all other questions."  It should then transfer you to an agent.

Did you efile or mail your return? They didn't start opening the mail until June that's been stacking up. Back in March the IRS closed their processing centers and stopped processing mailed tax returns.
See this IRS page for the latest information
    https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-operations-during-covid-19-mission-critical-functions-continue

If you efiled....Was your return Accepted? First double check your efile status here
    https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.

Then only the IRS can tell you. IRS Where's my refund https://www.irs.gov/refunds/
Make sure you are using the refund amount from your actual federal tax return and not the combined amount Turbo Tax showed you at the end. That was for federal and state combined.

When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc.  what does it say?

When will you get your refund,

I sent my tax refund into the IRS in September from you guys and they aren’t saying where it is at or if they ever received it so what is happening on your end

You did not send your "refund".  You filed your Tax Return.  The refund is what you get back.  See my post right above yours.

So I filed my taxes and I have not got my refund back. I called the IRS to see where my refund is and they won’t give me an answer.

@robtechocomcast Not sure what you are trying to do, but please do not post your email address in this public user forum.  Luckily for you the filter removed it for your protection

This is a public web site that can be seen by anyone—including scammers and would-be identity thieves who would love to contact you and pretend to be from TurboTax.

The IRS is having a hard time this year. Each return must be cross checked for the normal and now with the new laws:

    • stimulus- is it correct, pay missing amounts, do they need to be added for the new stimulus
    • unemployment - is it on there, was it filed with the $10,200 subtraction, does it need to be adjusted
    • premium tax credit - is it on there, is there an amount due, adjust the return
    • EIC - is it on, were they banned, is there a record of release to claim?
    • Child credit -anybody else claim, how old are kids, what is allowed
    • and so on for still more, it is a long process this year to check each return for so many things.

The IRS is also processing returns mailed in last year and handling the current stimulus. They have scheduled this summer to adjust unemployment on returns.

The more items on your return, the more complicated the processing.

Your reply is insufficient! Telling me what problems the IRS has is their problem and not mine. My problem is that I have a refund due me that they have not honored in a timely manner. Someone’s dropped the ball and as tax payers who pay there salaries we find it hard to forgive them. When I owe taxes they want my funds on a day certain. This is no answer or excuse.

Sorry that you are having an issue with the IRS.  TurboTax does not issue refunds or Stimulus checks.  TurboTax is a tax preparation platform.  If you have submitted your return to the IRS, then TurboTax is out of the picture.  IRS is forbidden to discuss your information with TurboTax because of privacy laws.  There could be several reasons why you have not received your Stimulus or refund.  However, you will have to discuss your refund timing with the IRS.
