Refund has not been deposited on feb 22. Could this be due to oeing student loans and urs kept refund?
How would you know if federal refund is held. Would you still get a DD date?

Yes unfortunately that COULD be the case. That is called a refund offset. I would recommend
you call Bureau of the Fiscal Service at (1) 800-304-3107 or TDD
866-297-0517 to find
out if your refund may or has been offset. Follow the prompts. It will ask for the Social Security number
for which the debt is attached- in your case this would be yours. I am going to include a link which has additional information about refund offsets.
The IRS lists the following obligations which can be collected from tax refunds:
- federal tax
- state income tax,
- state unemployment compensation debts,
- child or spousal support,
- a federal nontax debt, such as a student loan
