So my friend has kids as well as I do. I know why the IRS took forever because of the law about child credit. She filed before me, but my was processed and approved a day before her. We both had received the same message about refund being sent by the 26th. Well today she received hers and I did not. Should I be worried?

It could be that your bank processes directly deposited funds at a different rate than your friend's bank. Per the IRS Refund timing page - it takes additional time for refunds to be processed after leaving the IRS, and for financial institutions to accept and deposit them to bank accounts and products like debit cards. Also, many financial institutions do not process payments on weekends or holidays, which can affect when refunds reach taxpayers. For EITC and ACTC filers, the three-day holiday weekend involving President’s Day affects their refund timing.
