Why is my state return still pending? I submitted it with my federal over a week ago. The federal submitted instantly. The state is still pending.

Returns generally are in pending status for 24–48 hours but sometimes state returns stay in pending status for several days or even longer. Please see What does pending mean? for more detailed information.
