Where’s my refund

No one here would have that information.  Once your returns have been accepted , it is up to the IRS & State when refunds are issued. The IRS states that nine out of 10 e-filed tax returns with direct deposit will be processed within 21 days of IRS e-file acceptance.  There are delays with returns that include the ECI/ACTC credit, the IRS states that deposit dates should start showing sometime this week.

Mailed paper returns: If you filed a paper return, please allow 4 weeks before checking the status. Refund processing time is 6 to 8 weeks from the date the IRS receives your tax return

States differ when they issue refunds.

Where’s my refund

@lamadrina1982  If your refund was taken no one here would know anything about why you had an offset.  You should receive a letter explaining the reason your refund was taken.

The IRS provides a toll-free number, (800) 304-3107, to call for information about tax offsets. You can call this number, go through the automated prompts, and see if you have any offsets pending on your social security number.

The Department of Treasury's Bureau of the Fiscal Service (BFS) issues IRS tax refunds and Congress authorizes BFS to conduct the Treasury Offset Program (TOP). Through the TOP program, BFS may reduce your refund (overpayment) and offset it to pay:

  • Past-due child support;
  • Federal agency non-tax debts;
  • State income tax obligations; or
  • Certain unemployment compensation debts owed to a state (generally, these are debts for (1) compensation paid due to fraud, or (2) contributions owing to a state fund that weren't paid).
