What's taking my refund so long? I have code 1541 on IRS site.

I FINALLY got my advocate phone number and direct line . Left message for her to call me back and hopefully things will get fixed

So what happened was that for one of my w2s, it didn’t match up on my return so she sent me a 1040x and I have to send it in.. problem is, I have absolutely no clue how to fill it out

Me. I have called and called. He was supposed to call me today. Nothing. I even called his supervisor. Sadly i missed the call back. They call from different numbers all the time.


For anyone looking on how to reach someone from the IRS directly instead of getting diconnected.. follow these steps..

The first question the automated system will ask you is to choose your language.
Once you’ve set your language, do NOT choose Option 1 (regarding refund info). Choose option 2 for “Personal Income Tax” instead.
Next, press 1 for “form, tax history, or payment”.
Next, press 3 “for all other questions.”
Next, press 2 “for all other questions.”
When the system asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, do NOT enter anything.
After it asks twice, you will be prompted with another menu.
Finally, press 2 for personal or individual tax questions. The system should then transfer you to an agent.

So I’m taking it no one else got the date today... I’m going on 2 weeks now since I faxed over my w2 like the advocate said to. I really didn’t think it was going to take this long

@Amanda123 no update on my end either. She did tell me that it would take 3 to 4 weeks but I did get a letter from department of treasury saying they took 500 out and pd my back child support on the 22nd. So I’m guessing it has to had to been approved just not showing. Which sucks cause I’m hoping to get this before the 12th so turbo tax don’t bounce my acct. and if the took the 500 out for the back child support then I’m guessing that my wages were approved if they sent 500 to foc. But yes no update on my end either but I’m gonna call TA next week and see what’s going on. I need this money before the 12th
