What's taking my refund so long? I have code 1541 on IRS site.

Last time I talked to them he told me that they needed w2 from my employer to. And he said I would have to wait for a letter and either I could send in the w2 or they would ask my ex employer to send it in. Or even better is what I comaught is he said they will call my employer to get the info. Now I know that irs don’t call anyone. So that tells me they r full of **bleep**. So I went to my employer on Monday and sat in the owners office and his secretary showed me the certified documents and that it went certified and was deliverered. Then he called his irs rep and she even said that the irs processing center is back logged and that the people we talk to only see what the processing center wants them to see. Yes it is in 45day review because the info has not all been entered and it goes into an automatic default. Me honestly thinks that after next week we will see an update. Transcript says the 4th so I will wait till then and see. They r just gonna keep giving u random answers cause they don’t know the real answer either

Yes your right! My wmr updated on a Friday. Hopefully I will see some type of change this Friday. It’s so stressful going through this for my money.

I hope it is to but I have to believe his rep. She couldn’t even see what processing center has. She said different departments can see only certain things. She couldn’t even tell me if they had it all. Just that they had it. She can’t see anything on their end

The other thing is that they told me they could see only 1 employer. Well when I get on to look at my transcripts it shows none of my employers. So this also tells me they haven’t updated anything and they are behind.

I had falling back to sleep. But yes I have the codes 570 and 971. I haven’t received a letter. I follow the 1541 group on social media and people post their transcripts. Where it says notice generated it has a code under it. But mine is blank

2 weeks ago they told me that I would get a date by today and of course I did not. So i called today and they told me that it was under review and it will be 45 days from March 11th. Does that mean it's gonna deff be 45 days or does it mean it can take up to 45 days

I file jan 28 and accept on Jan 29,feb 16 i have that code 1541. I called on feb 21,they said i’m under review up to 45 days starting March 4.Today I approved for March 1st. I think they need time to process refunds.

That's when I filed and was accepted as well, but I just checked and it still says "take action" and I was told it's under review that it may take 45 days (so mid April) to complete.

I doubt it take the full 45 days! I been told so much I’m not calling the irs anymore. I was told yesterday it’s because of my wages, now today it’s nothing wrong with my account but they say I’m going to receive a letter. But if nothing is wrong why is there a letter being sent lol
