I feel your pain. I'm in the Philippines, money is about to run out. My wife just had a baby, now we're in the predicament of being homeless if I cannot pay the rent. Due on the 19th. And I cannot get any information about when I will receive my fed tax return. Worst of all, I cannot call the IRS, theres some hiccup with the phone system here that will not allow me to connect a call to them. Let me know if you have heard anything. Best of luck.
Russ
For anyone still looking at this thread who has not received a letter from the IRS, maybe I can help.
If you filed your taxes with TurboTax in 2020 (for 2019), and you had insurance with the "health marketplace" In 2019, there are additional forms you must file before the IRS can process your return. These additional forms are 1) form 1095-A , and 2) form 8962. Form 1095-A should have been filled out and mailed to you by the marketplace, and your tax preparer will use that information to fill out form 8962.
Since my tax lady told me a ton of people got hit with this problem this year (TurboTax was not prepared for the change), I hope this information can help someone!!
It’s not turbo tax we use free tax USA and we always use tax USA and ours says the same thing we just filed a little later then we normally do because we had a w2 get lost in the mail. But we filed on Feb. 12th and was accepted on Feb 14th and ours first had the bars on it on the where’s my refund and says processing then one day the bars were gone and now says same thing everyone’s does still being processed a date will be provided when available. So I honestly think it’s a delay in the irs and them trying to spread out when they release the returns filed between certain dates is what I think. Who knows it doesn’t make since because I have never had this problem before or my fiancé and he has child support come out each year but he never gets them late he always still gets them on time and his says same thing mine does. So don’t feel bad we have been trying to book our vacation and can’t until they come in the condo we’re wanting will be gone by time we get our darn taxes.
We filed feb 12th and have never seen this message until just the other day our bars went away and the same thing pops up on ours so don’t feel bad. I think they are just waiting a certain amount of time before they release the second batch of refunds or the irs is low and money who knows what’s going on I have never seen this message in the 25 years I have filed taxes.
I really feel your pain we’re here in Kentucky and still haven’t heard anything. But we have 8 children and our rent is due on the 9th of March and my fiancé got laid off I was off from having our last baby and now things are a struggle. We always get them on time never have this problem, but will try and call today.
To the person who said "its not turbo tax, it's free tax USA", my statement was not for "TurboTax" users only. I only referenced them because that is what my husband uses. The point was, if you had marketplace insurance and did not have an actual tax person doing your taxes, you may need to file additional forms before your refund can be processed by the IRS. We are in the same boat as everyone else and finally spoke to the IRS. This is something new as of this year, and many online tax programs were not prepared for this change. Almost 2 million people were effected by this, so I was only trying to give the information I had.
So if your still processing you probably need to do the ID verification you will get a letter in the mail with everything you need to do Myself and sister is going though the same thing I now have a tax advocate because I'm qualified for the program to get my refund push a head so Good luck and be looking out for a Letter....
Im sorry for your hardship, though we all have them. I've used Turbo Tax for my taxes now for about 10 yrs, and I cant remember when if any I have had any problems with them. With that being said, I suggest you call and speak with someone from IRS. If you filed in mid February, you can expect to receive your refund by mid March. Taxes are different for everyone, and cant compare your wait time to others. I filed my taxes on January 27th, and received them on March 3rd. Be patient you'll receive them soon
Mine said the same thing as well for a long time. They are taking longer to review the filers who claimed certain credits. EITC, ACTC, AND SO ON. I filed on january27th, and received them in the ending of Febuary
My return was accepted on the 12th of February.
My bars have disappeared about a week ago and it still has the message saying Your refund is being processed.
I just received my State refund today and was looking forward to getting my Federal before the end of the month.
I think those that have claimed certain tax credits are waiting longer because of fraud.
We contacted the irs today and they said they are doing an income review and trying to say they won’t touch them till March 23rd and it will be like the end of May before we get anything back. Which is dumb our income has been the same the past several years and w2s put in like they are supposed to be and for them not to touch them till March 23rd when we filed on Feb 12th is ridiculous.
My status has not been updated it still say begin process a date will be provided when available with no code what does that mean
Mine says the same thing.
im having my taxes offset since my husband owes state tax back from 2013. I’m hoping that, that is the reason I’m getting this message
Really? They didn't tell you about a 45 day review for the income verification?
Who do you spoke to?
