Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted?
You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
Use this TurboTax website to check the status of an e-filed return and if it was either accepted or rejected -https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status -https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund
Critter provided you a couple of tools above. If the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool shows that your refund is still "being processed", and if it's been longer than 21 days, we can tell you how to speak to a live agent at the IRS.
If the "Where's My Refund" tool says your funds were sent, but you never received them, did you choose to receive your refund by direct deposit to a banking account, direct deposit to a prepaid debit card, or by check in the mail? If a prepaid debit card, is it the Turbo Prepaid Visa Card?
And did you happen to pay any TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund? If so, the funds will go first from the IRS to an intermediary bank where the fees are subtracted, then that intermediary bank sends the rest to your bank account (or Card.) If that's your situation, we can tell you more about that process and how to check on it if the IRS has released your funds.
NOTE: Whenever the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool says it has sent a direct deposit, it will say sent to your "bank" even if you chose a prepaid debit card, since a prepaid debit card uses an underlying bank account and routing number, which is what the IRS sees. So it refers to all direct deposits as a "bank."
