Hello , hopefully someone can help with this.
when the 2nd stimulus package was released , my bank account that I used for the 1st stimulus was already closed so the irs attempted a deposit into a closed account but sent the funds back . Turbo tax sent me a secure email and gave me about 24 hours to update to new banking , I did and the next morning I received the 3rd stimulus.
Did turbo tax keep my bank info from the 2nd stimulus on file or will I have to wait until funds are rejected and etc ?
i have filed my 2020 tax return but it is still processing with no date , so I’m not sure if it will go to an old 2019 account or the new 2020 account
I tried to ask this as simple as a could . Let me know if you have any info on this ! Thank you in advance 🙂

Well I am in the same boat here. according to this new email which I will paste below they should try again to deposit it into your updated banking information you provided with the turbo tax portal. below is the email many turbo tax customers should have received hope this helps. my date changed from the 17th to the 26th it is now the 30th but still says on the IRS website the 26th. I am using paypal cash card for the new banking so it can take 3-5 days to show up so fingers crossed. below is the email i got.
The IRS has begun distributing a third round of stimulus payments.
We understand that you may have questions about where a third stimulus payment will be sent since you used the TurboTax Stimulus Portal to update your information with the second round of stimulus payments.
Here is what you can expect:
We understand that these funds are important to you and we are doing everything we can to help you get them as quickly as possible.
We encourage you to regularly check the IRS Get My Payment tool, here, for updated information on how you can expect to receive your stimulus payment. The payment status on that tool will not change more than once per day.
Thank you again for being a TurboTax customer.
Respectfully,
Sarah Kim
