Pending for almost 2 weeks

Hi, okay so everyone I filed on January 13 2020 and it’s been in the pending status since I filed. So today it says Federal taxes transmitted 1/27/2020. What does any of this mean? My aunt filed on the 11th of January and got accepted how is that when they opened today?

There were a few returns accepted early to test the system.  The IRS just officially starting accepting returns today. Give them another couple of days to clear the backlog. Once accepted, the IRS says to then allow 21 days.

Every tax year the IRS pulls small batches of tax returns to test the IRS systems.  The vast majority of tax returns will not be accepted or rejected until the IRS officially opens for receiving tax returns.

Your tax returns will remain Pending until the IRS starts receiving tax returns. It may be several days after the IRS start date before your tax return gets accepted or rejected.

If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

So the pending status isn’t bad your just waiting on them. Thank you I understand fully now because I filed January 13 and it says it wasn’t transmitted until today
