I originally filed single and got a refund but went in and amended it as “married filing separate” (my mistake) and now it says I owe. I originally put in my banking info to do automatic refund/withdrawal prior to the amendment since I was getting a return. Now I owe and I fear it being taken out of my account automatically because that’s what I originally chose prior to my amendment. Will what I owe be taken automatically?

we can't say what is right because we don't know your proper filing status
you can use the IRS website to check.

I’m not asking about filing status. I’m just stating I was owed a refund prior to my amendment. Prior to my amendment, I opted for an automatic refund/withdrawal into my checking account. Now that I did an amendment, I now owe. I’m wondering if they’ll use the same information from the prior filing and automatically take what I owe.
