Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

My IRS transcripts have no record of a 2020 return that turbo tax said was accepted in mid February, and it is not yet processed. What does this mean?

All of the information was filed correctly, I have a topic 152, have spoken to the IRS directly and they say is processing bug has yet to START processing. However there is nothing on any of my IRS transcripts about a 2020 return filed, in fact- one transcript said “no return received” even though track my refund says processing. Filed in mid February, and was told to call back in May if I don’t receive my refund. I’m so confused.

It can take 21 days from the time your return is accepted to the time you receive your refund.  It may also take longer due to other reasons, such as the particular forms that were filed, or due to the PATH Act.  For more details, please see the Help Article here.

To check your e-filing status and/or track your refund, please see the link here.

The IRS is also operating at mission-critical functions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which means there will be service delays with the following:

  • Live phone support
  • Processing tax returns filed on paper
  • Answering mail from taxpayers
  • Reviewing tax returns, even for returns filed electronically

I would just like to point out that it has been WELL over 21 days, I’ve talked to the IRS, they have no record of my return whatsoever, and they have told me to call again in 10 WEEKS. I have reviewed every last detail, and understand back logging, but my family and I all filed separately through turbo tax one the very same day, and I am the only one to have this issue happen.

This is not surprising because of the pandemic. It's taken longer than usual because of the COVID pandemic. Log in here to periodically check your refund status.

It says daily that it is still processing but the tax transcripts show no return received. Also on my IRS account, it shows that it hasn’t even began to process yet. Not sure what any of that means. I just have “still processing” with TT 152 on WMR, like many others.
