It looks like my new 2020 software is loading the wrong state. How can I fix this?

it depends on why it is loading the wrong state.  Is this happening when you put in your previous year's information:  Did you live in a different state?  If you had income in more than one state you will probably need multiple states.  You may need to contact TurboTax for help with this.

please review MyInfo - what state does it say you live in? is that the issue?

when you state it is loading the wrong state, what state is it loading and what state do you live in?  Are there other states you work in?

Are you really using the "Online" TTX software?

Thanks for replying. I figured it out. I live in KY but had prepared a return last year for someone that had income in KS. Hence, KS showed up on the download. All is well!

Hope you are using the desktop/download software....then you can ignore KS and aren't charged if you don't use it.

Yes, it is the desktop download. I panicked when I saw the updates for states I don't want as the primary.  (I prepared a return for 2019 for someone who had worked out of our home state.) Once I let it totally load, I figured out I can then choose my home state. Thanks for your reply!
