This is a lie. Is very obvious now that turbo tax has officially issued false statements on the matter.
File suit against turbo tax!
Everyone needs to just file a lawsuit against intuit if you are able. We deserve actual answers instead of lies.
File a lawsuit against turbo tax. Its the only way we will get answers after the company issued false statements twice assuring us the IRS had the correct account info

They did they exact same thing to me. I thought once was supposed to be all they sent it too when it didn’t go through the first time

Yes, If a filer's bank information is invalid, or the account has been closed, the bank will return the payment to the IRS,. The IRS will mail a paper check or prepaid debit cards to the taxpayer's address on file
Same happened to me. And they still haven't mailed it yet. So frustrating
For a few taxpayers, the IRS had an issue processing Economic Impact Payment 3s, reissuing payments back to the same account that rejected the payment initially. For some customers, they would have noticed their payment being sent to an account that was rejected.
Instead of updating account information or issuing a check the IRS attempted a second deposit to the same account that was rejected during the first attempt.
For customers impacted by this issue, please be assured the IRS will mail a check within 14 days to the address on file for the most recent tax return (TY20 or TY19). The IRS Get My Payment (GMP) status will reflect that a check is being mailed. When the IRS reissues a payment, they will update the status no more than once a day at IRS Get My Payment
I JUST checked my Get My Paymeand they d the same thing to me as well.
What's so odd is that I got my income tax check to my NEW account in Mid March, so why they would send my payment AGAIN to my old account in March 31st is irritating.
I've had the same issues the second stimulus up date was temporary not permanent I've called every one I can and my third stimulus was issued to the same closed account twice. But also my niece get ssi from her father passing and I'm recieveing part of my payment on her direct express card. But I still don't know where the rest of my money is for me and my other dependent or if there going to send me a check with an over payment on it or not. This is very frustrating and u think turbo tax would have done more to help with this obviously huge problem!!! But I've been told repeatedly that's it's the irs with all the errors not turbo tax so we have to call them there's nothing they can do about it. all turbo tax says is u have to wait for the irs to send it to ur closed account be returned and wait on a paper check. If I find a way to help in any way I will reply again.
My second stimulus turbo tax emailed me told me change my banking info so it would go in the correct acct and I did. But this 3 rd one is a nightmare still says was sent to closed bank acct the irs is a hot mess and turbo tax has not helped you are correct next year I will not be using turbo tax
