I filled out my tax return in TT back in early Feb, and then had my hard disk crash. I have replaced it with another, but am not able to open it. What do I do?

I have the file that TT created for 2023, but the software insists that I need to start all over again.  Why can't it read the file I already have?

If you have the 2023 tax data file which has a file extension of .tax2023 then all you need to do after you start the 2023 TurboTax program and then click on the File menu at the top left of the desktop program screen.  Then click on Open Tax Return.  If the tax data file is not found then Browse to the location where you saved the tax data file.
