With all the adjustments the IRS has to deal with this year it is not surprising that there are delays.
You were correct in amending for a $3000 1099.
Based on the information you provided it appears you have done everything correctly.
I would just wait for the IRS to catch up. They will match the 1099 to your return and if there is a question or error you will receive a letter and you can respond at that time.
Thanks for your quick response. So I don't need to mail the federal return in and the amount I owe will directly come out of my bank account? Because that's what I thought was happening
I'm concerned because the $360 owing isn't showing coming out of my bank account. Is that normal? Or do I need to mail the return with a check?
In a normal season, the IRS will debit your account on the date you specified or soon after. We have had several reports of the IRS not debiting accounts on the scheduled date. Just be patient -- the IRS will take your money!
If you want to check the debit date you specified, look on the filing instructions for your return. It will tell you the debit date the IRS or State will deduct the payment. If you did not print them out you can view them using the following steps:

To get back into your return after printing or e-filing, please follow these steps:
In TurboTax Online, sign into your account.
You should be on your Tax Home page.
Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents.
Select 2020, and then select Add a State (you're not actually adding a state, this just gets you into the right menu).
Once you're in your return, you can navigate around as usual.
Click Tax Tools (in the black bar on the left of your screen) and then click select Print Center.
Click Print, save or preview this year's return
TurboTax CD/Download
Go into Forms Mode by clicking on the Forms icon in the top right of the blue bar.
In the Forms in My Return list on the left, click Filing Inst. [It's usually toward the bottom of the list.] The form will appear on the right side of the screen.
You can view the form on the screen or you can print a copy by clicking the Print box at the bottom of the screen.
To return to the interview, click on the Step-By-Step icon in the top right of the blue bar.
The IRS does take some time to withdraw funds. They are backlogged. Try waiting up to a few days before the May 17 deadline before prompting a secondary means of payment. Otherwise, it could end up that you double pay and then have to wait for a refund.
To determine if there is a problem, check your account here: IRS: View Your Tax Account Information.
If the payment has still not been withdrawn and you are within a few days of May 17, go to IRS Paying Your Taxes for options or see 2020 Form 1040 Instructions, page 62. Payment options include:
mailing in a payment using Form 1040-V Payment Voucher, or
by using either Direct Pay or
by using the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS).
I'm so confused because I efiled my amended federal return and it shows it accepted and I know I said to debit my account BUT when I go to the print my return the instruction sheet says to mail my return with a check? I don't want to overpay but I don't want to not pay either. What do I do? I've never had to amend a return before so this is all new to me
