I did my taxes with Turbo Tax & out of the blue I received a large check from the IRS. I checked the IRS transcript and see difference in TP Figure and Computer Figure.

Is Turbo Tax known to calculate wrong?

No. Turbo Tax is not known for calculating wrong. Turbo Tax calculates based on the information that you enter into the system. IRS calculates based on the information that they have plus the information submitted through Turbo Tax.

IRS may have information that you are unaware of or failed to report. You will receive a notice of explanation from the IRS within a few weeks. You will have an opportunity to discuss the difference with the IRS at that time.
