I am supposed to send Form 8453 with my 1099-B to the IRS. TurboTax said it would generate it after e-filing. This form did not generate nor can I find it anywhere.

I am wondering what form I need to send my 1099-B to the IRS

That is correct - you can enter a summary for Box A or Box D as long as there are no adjustments.   And you did not have adjustments or TurboTax would have asked you to upload a PDF (if using Online version) or printed out Form 8453 with instructions.

You only have to send in your 1099-B with Form 8453 in certain situations.    See this FAQ; if it doesn't apply to you, then you don't need to mail anything in.   Mailing 8949 w/ Form 8453

If you're e-filing, you only need to mail the IRS a copy of your 8949 (along with Form 8453) if you entered sales section totals for one or more sales categories (instead of each individual sale) and one of the following is true:

  • The sales category for one or more summaries is something other than box A (short-term covered) or box D (long-term covered), or
  • The box A or box D summary includes adjustments (typically listed in boxes 1f or 1g on your broker statement)

Ok, so if I just have Short-Term Gains or (Losses), Box A (Basis reported to IRS), $X8XXX.XX and $X9XX.XX under Cost Basis and (XXX.XX) under Realized Gain or (Loss). I did not enter individually because there are 30 pages worth. Nothing else is on that page. As I read your answer, I should not send my form 8949 and 8453 to the IRS.
