The TurboTax tax data file, which has a file extension of .tax2014 for tax year 2014, can only be opened by the TurboTax 2014 software. TurboTax does not support tax year 2014.
If you have a PDF of a saved 2014 tax return that can be opened by any compatible PDF viewer, such as Adobe Reader.
If you need to print the tax data file and do not have the software, then consider using this website which can print the files for a fee - https://www.taxprinter.com/
Or go to this IRS website for free federal tax return transcripts - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
For a fee of $50 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf
You cannot open a .tax2014 data file without the 2014 software installed. Even if you had the CD it would probably be useless because 2014 is no longer supported and updates and states are no longer available.
You should always save a tax return as a PDF file that can always be opened with a pdf reader.
You can get a free transcript from the IRS
