@Niyaaa

At the following IRS website, find the USA map and click on your state, and it will give you the number of your area's IRS Taxpayer Advocate.

Same boat here! Filed January 13th 2020. It was accepted and processing by Jan. 27th. Hadn’t received any letters until I had called and I received my first letter on March 9th stating it was under review. I had called again the beginning of June because I still hadn’t heard anything. They told me to call back July 20th 2020. I called and they told me to wait ANOTHER 60 days! Just received a letter today stating there’s nothing we need to do and to wait 60 days and call back if I still haven’t heard anything. SO FRUSTRATING!

Does anyone have a phone number you can call where an actual person answers? I have called the [phone number removed] number listed in the letter but it just takes you through the automated system and ends up in the same place ("your refund is still being processed"). I can't figure out a way to get around it and talk to anyone. Not that it would probably do much good based on what I am seeing from other comments here...

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.

@DoninGA Wow, that is quite the maze of options to go through. Thank you for that information!

So I made it through the maze, got transferred into the call queue, and then received a message that "due to high call volumes" the IRS is not able to take my call at this time. Apparently I'm supposed to try back a different time and see if I can get through then? I'll have to try really early in the morning when the line first opens, I guess.

2nd year in a row that I can't seem to get my refund...  I should probably just adjust my withholding so I don't have to worry about this next year. I just happen to like the government helping me with my savings plan, lol.

THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING TO ME!!!!

I just received yet another today telling me "We are working on your refund. No additional Steps are needed from me. However we do need another 60 days"

I've called several times, no one can seem to figure out what the issue is. I'm beyond frustrated. Waiting for $6,000. I sure hope this gets resolved before 2020 is over!@@

I tried calling using the process that the poster above provided, but I was never able to get in to speak to someone. The one time I tried I got a message about lines being too busy and to call back later, so I just gave up. When did you submit your return? I got mine in pretty early (end of February), so I was probably pretty high in the queue when they finally started coming back from the COVID shutdown.

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then a date for Sending will be available on the IRS website.

See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions

Only the IRS controls when and if a tax refund is Approved and Sent.
