Has anyone received the message, ‘You are eligible for the payment. Once we have your payment date, we will update this page.” when they view the stimulus tracker? [Tax Year 2019]

@dfg5133 and @NCperson: my 2019 return was accepted, but my refund is on hold because I somehow neglected to file for 2016.  I had no clue, but I don't have anything in my own records to prove otherwise.  I was surprised by this because I received refunds for both 2017 and 2018 with no issues.

Anyway, I sent in my 2016 return, but who knows when that's going to be processed since they're not doing paper returns right now.  While I don't believe that this will prevent getting a stimulus payment, I too see a pattern of it screwing with the payment date, reading through this forum.  I'll update once/if my date is ever given, but for the time being, I'm in 24-hour jail, too.

Speaking of 24-hour jail, I'm still trying to figure that one out.  I assumed it would reset around the same time that the dates are supposedly updated (i.e. some time overnight).  I hit the "too many" threshold around midnight last night, expecting to be able to check again this morning, but I'm still locked out, which leads me to believe that the 24-hour lockout is indeed a full, revolving 24 hour window.  Good times.

Hey guys I was scheduled for April 29th received deposit this morning. I bank with fidelity cash management. I usually get paid a day before most people at my job so that might be why I got it a day early. Anyways, best of luck and the  person saying vote blue because the government sent a check to your daughter instead of DD. Please understand they have 140 million people to pay: I doubt they considered whether your daughter was a flight attendant. 
the most common  cause for a check to be sent when bank account information is given is that the deposit was rejected by the bank or some mishap making the deposit. Could have easily been governments fault but also could be banks. Don’t make this political. Thanks!

So just to answer some things I have read. I filed and received my refund for 2019 already. I updated my information in the portal for my dd on 4/15 at 8am est. I have still have NOT received a date. It says it will update when a date is available. My parent entered their information in the portal on 4/17 and have a date for the 30th. It’s really frustrating because I don’t understand why I have no date.

Here is the kicker. I am in your boat! I did NOT file 2016 or 2017 because I knew I was going to owe. I know, dumb move. I did file 2018 and 2019. My 2018 was due a 10k refund and was under review for about 6 months. It was so long that they sent me a little extra for the interest due on the refund. 2019 I e filed the day they opened filing and ended up getting a notice the first week of April saying that 2019 was pending because there are no taxes on file for 2016 or 2017. Well, they sent me a refund for 2018!!! I guess I should be lucky. Either way, the day they opened the IRS tool I logged in and entered my deposit info at about 7:30 am EST and have received the same message as everyone else about no date yet. I  have read that the only thing that effects your stimulus is back child support and if you have wage garnishments and they get it before you buy even then, it will still be deposited. I don't think the 2019 return issue has anything to do with it because plenty of ppl in our same boat minus the 2019 issue.

@Capron09 - i think this is what you are running into after my read of 100's of posts.

1) technically, the CARES ACT which provides for the stimulus is based on your 2020 tax return to be files next year.  

2) the ACT gives the IRS permission to use 2019 as the estimate for what 2020 will look like

3) the ACT further states the IRS MAY use 2018 for that estimate

but what I have seen from the way others have posted, it appears the IRS is not paying out the stimulus until the 2019 tax return is finishing processing.  they are not using 2018 tax information at the present time. 

this is what the law says: 

ALTERNATE TAXABLE YEAR.—In the case of an individual who, at the time of any determination made pursuant to paragraph (3), has not filed a tax return for the year described in paragraph (1), the Secretary may
(A) apply such paragraph by substituting  ‘2018’ for ‘2019’,

For those keeping track or trying to make sense out of each persons situation and see if there is a pattern here: Unfortunately there doesn’t appear to be a pattern or any rhyme or reason for the people who did exactly what they where supposed to do. 

My situation:  Filed my 2018 received a refund DD into my bank account via Tubo Tax

2019 hasn’t been filed as of yet.  

On April 15th around 7:30AM EST I successfully added my bank account. Since April 15th the status hasn’t changed. It’s the status that I am eligible for the payment, they now have my bank account DD info and when they have a payment date they’ll let me know. Yea ok. According to the IRS me (as well as countless other tax payers here, have not received a payment date or a DD for that matter. Just the same dam message. ) being we successfully entered our DD bank info successfully and are eligible for the payment, we all should of received our direct deposit already. A lot of people have and a lot of people have not. Nothing posted on the internet applies to this situation. If we’re eligible AND they have our DD deposit information, JUST DEPOSIT THE DAM MONEY ALREADY! Also the fact I didn’t file my 2019 yet and only my 2018 which is what they’re basing my eligibility on, has nothing to do with a delay for my payment date. I’ve already witnessed people in my same exact position of only filing 2018 and not 2019 yet, already have received their payment via DD and some by Mail.  It’s frustrating AF!

It’s not a personal attack on people in Florida!  The IRS treasury Dept is getting millions of stimulus checks out and there are going to be hick ups along the way!

Trump is not processing the checks himself, but he and his staff are doing the best that they possibly can in this situation!!  You just have to be patient!!  I as well have not received my check yet, but to be deposited tomorrow (4/29)

Pending deposit scheduled to post Thursday in my checking account was available to me this morning, two days ahead of time. 🙂

Same here. Entered my info on the 15th. Says that I am eligible and displays my bank info, but no updates to payment date. Most people who added their info on the 15th received a payment date over this past weekend, but I have not. Still says the same thing. "You are eligible for the payment. Once we have your payment date, we will update this page."

What is the thread that you created? My 2019 got flagged for 2017 info. Sent in a new 2017 tax return, but my 2019 return is stuck in limbo until IRS opens their processing centers back up. I updated direct deposit on the 15th and still no payment date noted. :(

Yep. Filed 2019 on opening tax day, but was flagged for audit. Completed the audit items, but now my 2019 return is in limbo. As of April 15th, status says eligible and bank info is there, but no payment date to be found.
