Got stimulus after filing

I filed my taxes saying I didn’t receive second stimulus but got it in the mail the day after filing. As much as I’d love a third stimulus I’d prefer not to get in any trouble in the future, what do I do?

Wait for your returns to be processed.  The IRS has not published guidance on how they will handle a misstatement of stimulus payments on the 2020 tax returns.  They may catch the error and notify you of the changes.  

Due to the timing of the stimulus payments and tax filing season this is a common experience.
