There is often a backlog of returns in pending at an extremely busy time like filing deadline week. Your return may be in "pending" status a bit longer. Be patient and watch your emails.
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
Since millions of tax returns were filed on or just before April 15, 2024 the IRS has a huge backlog of returns waiting to be received. It may take longer than 48 or 72 hours for the IRS to either Accept or Reject these e-filed tax returns. Be patient, the tax return will remain as Pending until the IRS receives the tax return.
