Dependants

Hello, I finished filing last week and submitted them to fed and state through TurboTax electronically. Most of it was carried over from last year's return and so on for as many years as I've used the service. I had my under 10yr old children on the return, but not as dependants, so the other parent could claim them, and I have no problems with that, however for some reason, this year's return it will not let her out the children on her return, how do I fix mine to allow her to claim them. I know I have to amend my filing status, but how??

Once you have confirmed you need to change your filing status before you have submitted your return to the IRS, follow the steps below:

1. Login to your Turbo Tax account.
2. Go to the "My Information" tab . You should see "Let's confirm your marital status".
3. Click continue and answer questions appropriately or delete inaccurate information.
4. Select "Done" and follow the next prompts.
5. Turbo Tax will determine the best filing status for you.
