Tax Year Prior to 2020: Child Tax Credit

I filed my taxes last week and they were approved on 1/24. Now it’s saying I can’t legally get my refund until mid or end February because of the child tax credit. What does that mean? I don’t have a child nor claimed one when TurboTax filed my taxes. Just Curious what this means?

Perhaps you have the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC or EIC). Those refunds will be delayed per the IRS.  Please see this Refund Timing for EITC and CTC

You can find out if you have it by looking at line 17a of your Form 1040.
