Have you entered all your withholdings (if applicable) and other tax payments, such as quarterly estimated tax payments?
Also be sure it is "refund" and not "tax due" that you are looking at.
What lines look wrong? Is the taxable income on line 15 right? And withholding on lines 25? Do you have self employment income? Is Schedule C right?
Before filing, You can preview the 1040 or print the whole return
also, your refund could be zero if it was less than the standard deduction
Hi Volvo, yes, I have it under Self-Employment. Once I selected that and put in the amount and saved, the Federal Refund amount didn’t change.
Hi Mesquite, yes I filled out everything I could under the Federal tab. And yes, I’m looking at the top left of the screen and Federal was at $0.
I added my expenses and and I put in my total income under the “Type of Income” section. Can selecting that you invested in stocks on TurboTax have an affect on your potential Federal Return too (they ask you in the beginning if you invested)?
It looks like you're in the online version of TurboTax.
I'd like you to take a look at your actual tax return and look at some key numbers. It may give you a clue as to what is going on.
