Can you clarify, what do you mean by "amend a tax return from the forms?"
Why is every question here answered with a question?
this question seems very clear to me. We are seeing errors in the forms when we click to se the actual tax forms but we don’t know how the error is created. The question is if you correct the form does it create an issue? I have found that it doesn’t so I use that method to remove errors. Sometimes simplifying a front end leads to incorrect entries.
When say "amend" when talking about tax returns, it usually involves filing Form 1040-X, Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return, to report changes to your income, deductions or credits. I see from the comments you found that you can make changes by entering on Forms. Some fields you can enter information in directly on the form, others require you to click on the field to go to a schedule where the amount is calculated. Other fields cannot be changed, without overriding them. If you override a field it will turn red. You cannot e-file a return if it has overrides in it.
