Calling the IRS - what should I do??

Questions are at the end. First, the sequence of events:

1) Filed an extension for 2019 taxes before the deadline was delayed to July 15.

2) Printed from TurboTax and filed 2019 taxes on paper in August 2020 as the efile deadline had passed. Mailed them by standard mail. There was no refund or payment due on the taxes so there was no reason to think they weren't correct in the IRS system. The papers showed an AGI of -1234 AND the amount transferred from 2019 TurboTax.

3) Between the stimulus payments in 2020, our direct deposit information changed. The first simulus payment was made by direct deposit but the second was never received.

4) Finished 2020 taxes and tried to efile. It was rejected three times. Unable to get an online IRS transcript (tried for two days to do so), I requested a transcript for 2019 by mail. I printed, enveloped and addressed the 2020 taxes in case they had to be mailed.

5) Tried to efile the 2020 taxes again, and the forms were finally accepted on the fifth total try.

6) The printed taxes accidently got mailed the day before the transcript arrived stating there is no 2019 filing -- hence the auto reject as the AGI didn't match.

Questions:

I absolutely have to call the IRS... so...

Do I ask to shred the printed 2020 forms?

Do I ask why the 2019 information doesn't match what was sent? Or even if the forms were ever received?

Do I mention the 2019 extension?

Thanks!

Calling the IRS - what should I do??

There is no need for concern.  Below are the answers to your questions.

Do I ask to shred the printed 2020 forms? No.  The IRS will discard them once they see a 2020 return has been filed and accepted.

Do I ask why the 2019 information doesn't match what was sent? Or even if the forms were ever received?

According to you, the transcript indicates no return was filed.  You should send another copy of your 2019 tax return to the IRS with any income documents including W-2s. Be sure to sign the return before mailing. It's not clear why your income was a negative amount.

Do I mention the 2019 extension? The extension is not relevant at this point in time. The extension period is ended, therefore the use is not helpful in any way.

That helps greatly. Thank you.

The exact wording on the transcript is "Requested Data Not Found" which to me means it was recieved but never entered or not received at all. I have no idea which and no tracking capabilities.

Short version FYI = only 2019 taxable income was personal savings withdrawals from an account that was originally tax deferred...against business partnership losses...negative AGI. Same for 2020 with a small positive AGI.
